Hey Guys :)

We ventured up north of Perth last night to capture the Milky Way, We'd hoped to shoot the Icecream dunes south of Cervantes but as the wind picked up shooting conditions became near impossible.
I'd been wanting to give the battery powered lantern trick another go so we quickly headed over to the pinnacles instead before the core got too high (around 130am) and attempted this 50 image panoramic shot taken on the Sigma 35mm.
I rushed the composition a little bit, it would of been nice to have some more pinnacles on the right hand side but it was literally a case of hit the ground running due to the height the MW was going to achieve over the duration of the exposure.
This took about 15-20 minutes to capture and FB really doesn't do it justice but the final PSB file size with layers was 28gb.
That's me in the middle doing my thing, This type of shot is something that has so much potential and it's really fun trying out different ways of executing it, On a night we thought we were going to come home with nothing this was a great last minute save and think I finally got in the door around 430am, feeling it today!!
Anyway hope everyone is having a good Monday and take care :)

Scotty

Outstanding work Scott, I actually like the composition and the lack of pinnacles to the right, fort me helps add more depth being able to see into the distance.

I actually like the pinnacles just on the left. The way it is composed leads your eye to the right side of the milky way, then you follow that to the left and back to the pinnacles. I really like the composition.
