Behind The Lens

Location

This is a shot of Eagle Rock taken from the coastline infront of Split Point Lighthouse. Split Point is where they filmed the 'Around the Twist' Tv series.

Time

I had just had lunch with my parents for my birthday at the roadhaven and we thought to take a walk by the lighthouse. Eagle rock lies just off the coastline and it was such a clear, crisp day being mid August, you could see clearly the detail and layers in the rock.

Lighting

Being a chilly August day the clouds were out with sun just creeping through at times. I avoided these times. The air was so crisp between you could see the horizon.

Equipment

I took this simply and quickly with an Apple IPhone 4S.

Inspiration

The rock looked great from the shore just sitting out there all alone. Most people take photos of the lighthouse but the texture of the rock is amazing. I never expected to capture that with an iPhone 4S.

Editing

The basic brighten filter on Instagram

In my camera bag

I have no tools or accessories other than my iPhone and a muesli bar. You need energy to walk the best trails!

Feedback

Once I was confidant of the angle, I took 3 shots of this to make sure the focus was where I wanted and the sun did not interfere.
