The model is exquisitely gorgeous. It would be difficult to take a poor photo of her.

If I could pin down all I like about this shot, I'd probably be a better photographer than I am. What I do know is it holds my eyes longer than the rest. It's a great shot.

Location
Anne Springs Greenway in South Carolina, USA. They have an area where we found this huge wagon they use for hayrides.Time
mid mourning 10:50am EST to be exactLighting
There was a bit if sunlight coming through the trees camera right it made the lighting on face soft but slightly uneven on the face so I used a small flash to even out the lighting. I also placed the model so that the camera right side of her hair was over exposed to give it a glow.Equipment
Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 600 RT flash with a wescott rapid box, Canon 50mm 1.2L. The photo was shot at 1/400th 2.5f 200isoInspiration
It was a commissioned job for a local boutique website to showcase their fall clothes. This particular photo I loved how the colors of the wood of the wagon matched the colored top the model wore. I also loved how I could blow out the trees with my 50mmEditing
I made some adjustments to curves in lightroom, retouched the model's face with Portrait ProfessionalIn my camera bag
Canon 5d mark iii, Canon 1d mark iii, canon 600Rt small flashes with the canon off camera remote. Canon 501.2L, Canon 100mm 2.8L IS, Canon 70-200mm 2.8L IS Rouge flex bender, Westcott rapid boxesFeedback
Visualize what you want to accomplish. I didn't know we would find this wagon the day of the session, but I knew the types of images I wanted to capture. When I saw the wagon I knew how it could play into the overall look I wanted to achieve. When I took the photo I knew how I would retouch it. My second advise is do anything you can to understand what you love about photography. When this photo was taken I've been on a big kick on slightly over exposing hair especially blondes for lens flares. I also love natural vignettes, symmetry in composition and bokeh
