Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Latigo Farms, Landrum, S.C.

Time

It was late in the afternoon around 5pm

Lighting

This photo was shot under a covered arena. The lighting was dark under the cover and very bright outside. I knew I should be able to get a good shot.

Equipment

I use nikon d3s with 24-70mm lens

Inspiration

This particular rider "Bridget" has long black hair and her horse "Diesel" is black as well. I thought that if I could capture her when she was just at the point of entering the arena I could get the shot.

Editing

This particular photo has just a little editing with the black to completely eliminate any light areas

In my camera bag

Nikon d3s, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 24-120mm, 50mm f1.4, 2-sb800 flash

Feedback

To capture this type of shot you have to be ready for that moment. You must concentrate on getting the shot and not loose focus watching the event.
