Beautiful image. Love the model's pose and the dramatic lighting. Well done!

In the afternoon, it was part of a Portfolio for my friend Michelle, She is a Model, so, after the session to make her traditional Portfolio for Model Agencies, we started to make Photos just for fun and searching for communicate beauty and sensualityLighting
I choose soft sidelights to reveal curves, shapes, mood; yet achieve soft skinEquipment
A Canon 7D and a 24-105mm f/4L lens; Manfrotto tripod; Flash: Norman P20/20 and L2400 head on Chimera medium size softbox and Elinchrome D-Lite RX 4 w/ White translucent umbrellas all mounted on self made (and better 6 meters rail system (Manfrotto like) :)Inspiration
The Beauty of Michelle :)Editing
Yes, some plug-ins to get the right B&W what I want, to clean some imperfections, and to give some abstract effect in the hair (don't know if I can mention brands) mostly use Topaz Adjust, OnOne Portrait and Macphun Tonality Pro, of course w/PhotoshopIn my camera bag
A Canon 7D with battery grip, 10-18mm, 24-105mm, 100-400mm, 580EX-II flash w/sto-fen omni bounce, clean kit, Manfrotto 055 tripod and extra memory cards (just in case). But if I go to search macro photography I get the 100mm f2.8L macro, the MT24-EX flash w/hand-made tiny softboxes , some extension tubes and two Manfrotto focusing rails (for left-right and backward-forward moves)Feedback
Learn how your light modifiers act, study your options, it doesn't matter if You have simple, inexpensive equipment or complex and very expensive one; (ok maybe the complex and expensive make things easier) but at the end, You can achieve the results You want with simple equipment, knowing how your equipment behave and being creative with. (bouncing flash on the walls or with umbrellas or any source light) . "Feel" your Image, visualize the results You want to achieve and look for different approaches to always learn and experience something new
