Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo after checking into my hotel room in Bydgoszcz Poland. I happened to open my curtains, look outside and this amazing view was there!

Time

It was in the late afternoon.

Lighting

The natural lighting was amazing and choosing to shoot HDR really complimented the mood and natural intensity of the light.

Equipment

A Canon Rebel XSi and a window seal to stabilize the camera.

Inspiration

The view really surprised me, after a long couple days of traveling, it was a shocking surprise to see this out of the hotel window.

Editing

I took an HDR and edited with Photomatix.

In my camera bag

Now a days I have a canon 6D and whatever walk around lens happens to be on there...I can typically improve the rest as needed.

Feedback

Be ready and don’t worry about having the best equipment. Taking an awesome shot with whatever you have on hand, when the opportunity presents itself, is the most important thing.
