Location
This is one of the waterfalls at Somersby Falls in The Brisbane Waters National Park. This park is north of Sydney ( Australia)Time
This shot was taken late morning, the light down there was pretty even as there is a lot of tree coverage filtering the sun.Lighting
There was a fair bit of sun light at the top of the falls and I wanted to use a slow shutter to smooth out the water, so there was a bit of trial and error getting the shot the way I wanted it.Equipment
The shot was taken on a Canon 5D mark2, with a Canon 16-35 f2.8 lens. I used a tripod to keep it steady. The camera was hanging upside down underneath the tripod to get the low down shot.Inspiration
I love the movement of water, either a water fall or ocean. I loved the way the water at these falls was moving around the rocks.Editing
This shot was processed in Capture One. I brought down the sun in the rear of the falls and worked on the various rocks and foliage to bring out their features. In my camera bag
Currently I have a Canon R5 and I usually a canon 16-35mm f2.8 , and a canon 100-300mm f4.5 . Sometimes the canon 100mm f2.8 macro. Usually have the tripod if I’m off for an early morning shoot.Feedback
A tri-pod definitely handy down at these falls. Gat there early in the morning if you can and hope there’s been a bit of rain before you head down.
