Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken of Lake Cumberland in Kentucky, US. The view is from Pulaski County Park.

Time

This photo was taken during a family reunion some years ago. I remember walking all throughout the park that our reunion was at, just taking as many shots as I could. This one is by far my favorite. It was taken around 4PM

Lighting

Purely natural lighting, as most of my photos are. I believe it turned out perfectly.

Equipment

I was using a Canon Rebel T3i and I rarely use a tripod considering most my photos are spontaneously taken.

Inspiration

I truly just love nature photography! I was just taking pictures of whatever I could while walking around that day. The floating piece of drift wood really just caught my eye for this shot.

Editing

For this photo I did do a bit of post-processing, the lake water in Lake Cumberland is never nearly this blue!

In my camera bag

I normally pack as much as I can. When doing my style of nature photography you really never know what you'll need! I don't like being unprepared.

Feedback

My advice to anyone interested in nature photography is to just get out there! To me nature photography is more about timing and place rather than the perfect camera setting or setup.
