Location
The Cold Moon photo was taken from my driveway on Dec. 7, 2022.Time
The photo was taken at 6:50 p.m. and I almost missed it. I wanted to shoot while the moon was climinb above the ridge. The air temperature outside was 16 degrees, so I wasn't going to wait outside for it when I could be indoors and warm. Had the camera all set up in the foyer ready to go. I just kept checking for the moon to peak above the ridge to the east.Lighting
Nothing special about the lighting. It is just a full moon aglow in sunlight.Equipment
I shot the photograph with a Nikon D780 and Nikkor 200-500 ED VR zoom lens mounted on a tripod. ISO was 100, shutter speed 1/500th of a second and aperature was f5.6. VR was turned off. I could have handheld the shot but I'm not as steady as I used to be.Inspiration
I'm on a quest to capture my perfect moon photo and I am not there yet.Editing

Research how others shoot photos of the moon and learn from their mistakes before setting out on your first moon photo shoot. Always include something in the foreground for added interest, context and scale.
