I was taking a stroll along the shore of Crystal Lake in Shasta County, California, USA on a very overcast summer morning. I was drawn to the butterflies and bees that were busily going about their routines in the assorted wildflower that abound in that area. I caught this image of this bumblebee just as it was lifting off a flower. The overcast light was wonderful to soften the glow and eliminate all concerns over harsh shadows, etc and the telephoto lens I had mounted made a for a nice “quazi macro” set up.
