Behind The Lens
Location
Hudson Bay, Seal River, Canada. It was November, with snow and nearshore bay frozenTime
This was early morning, don’t remember the exact time. The blue morph fox was hunting over the snow. With sun behind me , the fox popped up from behind snow covered rocks.Lighting
Natural light, early morning sun.Equipment
Canon R5, 100-400 zoom lens. Hand heldInspiration
I’d been watching the fox surveying the area for sometime. As he moved closer to my hiding spot I got ready for rapid fire shutter. It worked, this is my favorite from the series.Editing
Basic white balance adjustment, calmed some hot spots on the snow and sharpened. In my camera bag
I routinely carry a 100-400 canon, 100 tamron macro and a 24-70 canon. If focusing on birds also take a 600m. Use manfrotto tripod with RRS gimbal.Feedback
Just get out there and be patient. Pick a spot that is attractive to the animal and wait very quietly. Also, wear clothing that blends you into the landscape.
