I had stopped to look at some deer across the canyon through my spotting scope. When I stood up and put my pack back on my back, I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. This young mt. lion was about 15 yards away looking at me. I took my pack off and put my camera together. The young lion stayed within about 20 yards for about 30 minutes and wouldn't leave, so I took advantage of the situation and took as many pictures as it would allow.
