Milan has these amazing courtyards into the main residential buildings. I love walking in and finding beautiful architecture or people living their lives in these little pockets of space. During my walks I found this beautifully lit path with nice yellow and orange brickwork. As I was getting ready to take a nice picture of the building, this lady came out of the door and changed the image completely. I love the contrast of her silhouette over the burst of sunlight which to me created a nice dynamic between light and dark the path also has a natural border from the walls and the ceiling giving a nice feeling of claustrophobia. But at the same time, the burst of sunlight contradicts the claustrophobic feeling as it gives the impression of openness and an escape for the viewer
