Behind The Lens

Location
in my photo studio in porta westfalica, near bielefeld. it's part of my project work, the musicians' project. i'm writing a book about germany's musicians and life in and after the corona period.
Time
I mean in May 2022
Lighting
I usually only use a flash and an octagon softbox. i love the shadow in photos.
Equipment
i take photos with the sony alpha 7 iii. After my strokes in 2020, unfortunately I can no longer hold the heavy reflex cameras well. sony gave me a huge gift, so to speak, with the alpha 7 series. I also shoot manually. autofocus is a luxury for me and often not affordable. after my illness i just lost everything. the nice thing about it is that you get completely used to manual lenses. here I used the walimex 85mm f1.4.
Inspiration
my project work, as already mentioned, and matthias (the model) had applied for it. he is a guitarist and actually not a model at all, although he looks like it. the photo was taken spontaneously while we were having a really nice chat.
Editing
no, I haven't at all
In my camera bag
actually only my sony alpha 7iii and my walimex lens. Unfortunately I don't have much equipment for the camera. ah, another 24mm, f2.8 Tamron
Feedback
just work by feel, i talk a lot to the people i photograph. I would like to capture the human gene with all its facets. it's just gut feeling. one must not think too much.
