Utterly fell in love with the Micro and Mini World projects that I had seen online. The trend was to do them in Photoshop. But as a primary lover of 3D, it only made sense to do them in 3D. I started something similar back in 2009 called "Digital Dioramas" that were little environments in self contained blocks. Viewed in this light, I felt, I suppose, like I wasn't necessarily copying, so much as I had already had the idea...I'm just not very popular :) Now that I am better and have more powerful tools, plus I love environmental modeling right now, and I can't stop using Gaea (No literally, every night I just play with Gaea, World Creator, and World Machine, and it actually kinda sucks because for 3 months now I haven't gotten anything else done for my portfolio...but I love Environmental creation so much it's like a drug I can't stop) Anyway, here is a the first one, a cool Snowy World. Maybe I'll get one in Substance Painter this next month and not do all the materials and texturing entirely in World Machine and Gaea. I've been using Vray for 17 years, and recently took up Octane and Redshift. Despite this....the World Creator Render engine and little studio....while very limited in options....produces SPECTACULAR results including the best quick built in Volumetric and atmosphere solution I've ever seen in my life. And their water......hell whatever their default water is is better than anything I could get in Vray or Corona after hours of trying. If I could import my own models into World Creator and it had a node based material editor...hell I'd get rid of Marmoset altogether.
