Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the birds' reserve " le pont du Gau" les saintes-marie- de la mer Camargue France

Time

It was the last period of the night just one half hour before sunrise . We could enter the park because we were a group of photographers acompanied

Lighting

the light was very poor and the photo underexposed but I knew that I could reveal and enhance the light with post treatment .

Equipment

Sony 7R2 mounted with Sony 200-600 on a tripod

Inspiration

I didn't want to stop photographying because of the night . Now we can hope recover 5 IL with LR so i didn't increase iso and just mesure the first ray of light on the white feathers

Editing

First I recovered a good exposure in LR and controlled the noise . I also used a preset increasing the night effect .

In my camera bag

I'm a Sony user . I have Sony FF camera now it is a 7R4 used in apsc mode when i'm in nature and a sony A6500 when I need a high speed photography . The lenses are 24-105 and 200-600 . That's what can accept my back

Feedback

Now I'm very happy of the dynamic range given by new cameras and the new opportunities given in post treatment so we can extend easily the period when we take pictures . One half hour before sunrise and one half hour after sunset is no more a problem .
