This is the traditional seat of the indigenous governance institution called the abong and where indigenous male leaders of the particular abong hold council. This is located in Bokaw and photo was taken 16 July 2022. The abong refers to the governance system and the physical structure itself. This is an innovation of the traditional structure made of wood and grass with some low stone walling whenever possible. In this Kankanaey village, there are 7 abong (ward) located in different parts of the village, each with a specific geographic constituency.
