Location
The photo was taken in the Yeko photo studio.Time
This particular photo was taken a bit after 3 PM. But working in a studio, the time of day doesn't impact so much as working outdoors.Lighting
I tried to keep it minimal in this session and used just one artificial light source - a large softbox. Also, a bit of softness from the daylight coming through the windows. In this particular photo, I tried to create a bit of drama and darkness behind the model to symbolize the past left behind.Equipment
I used Canon 7D with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Also, a softbox was used.Inspiration
The whole session was in the St. Valentine's day theme. In this particular photo, we tried to portray a broken heart theme.Editing
This photo didn't need much post-processing. All processing was done in Lightroom. First, I needed to correct the white balance as I forgot to perform it before the shoot. Then a little color correction was made. In the end, a bit of noise reduction, and the photo was ready. In my camera bag
First of all, my 7D body, my Canon EF50mm f/1.8 II lens. For a backup, kit lens EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6. Usually, there is also a place for my Speedlite 580EX flash, some spare accumulators, and CF cards.Feedback
Don't be afraid of experimenting with light location and camera angles. In a studio, it's quite a fixed environment, and you can see where the light falls on the model and make needed changes accordingly.
