I had been eyeing up this location for months trying to get it to look how I wanted. After a cold night of shooting street portraits with my friend, it started to rain and snow. I asked him if he would kindly endure the weather a bit longer as we drove past this location and he agreed.

I had looked at this alley a hundred times in the dry and warm, the orange glow from the tree in the autumn was beautiful but never quite right. It was only on this cold, wet and frankly miserable night that it looked and felt as it should.

Life is a lot of different things. It's warm and it's sunny, but the formative moments of your 20's seem to be cold and sometimes miserable.

I have come to the realization that sometimes when you are left in the cold and wet, it's better than had they just dragged you along.
