Behind The Lens

Location

This picture photographed at a Cemetery in Toronto, ON. A discarded child toy caught my attention as I was visiting the children's section of the cemetery.

Time

I was visiting the cemetery in the late afternoon in mid-July, as the sun had not yet fallen in the West I found some shade under a large tree, it is one of my favorite times of the day during the Summer months.

Lighting

The late afternoon sun along with the shade from a tree I stood under had provided the perfect light.

Equipment

Google Pixel 4A

Inspiration

When I find a subject to photograph I aim to bring the image to life. This particular child's toy may have once been a child's joy, but now discarded, waiting to be loved once again as it sits in perhaps one of the saddest places of all in the children's section of a cemetery. A story needed to be told.

Editing

Editing involved very little I did crop the picture and blurred out the background to bring the subject further into the focal part of the picture, and to ensure that there was no distraction to the subject.

In my camera bag

Feedback

For me, the best pictures are always the ones where I as the photographer have a real connection with the subject. This will also bring the best out of your pictures
