Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken at the Grand Canyon on a tour of national parks. Arrived just in time to catch this beautiful sunset, painting the canyon in gorgeous shades of purple.

Time

Taken at sunset, around 9:30pm June 28th, 2022

Lighting

All natural lighting. Painted by nature

Equipment

I used a Canon 70D with a 18-55mm kit lens at f11, 1/40s, 29mm, no flash, handheld.

Inspiration

It had always been a dream to see a sunset at the Grand Canyon. Not only did I see it, but I was able to capture the magic to share with everyone.

Editing

Processed the RAW image in Adobe Lightroom with minimal enhancements.

In my camera bag

I always carry the Canon 18-55mm kit lens and 55-250mm kit lens allowing me to have a wide range of possibilities

Feedback

Definitely want to be ready at all times while in the field coupled with patience to fund the right moment. It also helps to be prepared for the weather and scout ahead if at all possible.
