Location
This photo was taken near the city of Midelt, next to the High Atlas mountains in Morocco, where there is many agriculture fields dedicated to apple trees.Time
I remember working that day on a creative direction project related to corporate social responsibility, which covered rural schools in the region, and I have noticed the beauty of that region, a mix of mountains, fields, trees and traditional architecture, The apple field was located in between the scene and I knew it will be a good photo, so I waited for my lunch break around 1:30PM, and went back to the scene, took a couple photos and chose that on out of them.Lighting
When I have analyzed the scene, I knew it will be a good photo if it has the feel of a surreal and fantasy landscape, but it was a bit challenging as clouds kept passing by, light going on and off, and I didn't had a tripod, so I had to carefully wait for the right moment when a little bit of sunlight starts showing up, in order to get the softest and dreamy result.Equipment
It was a very minimalist gear, I used a Sony A7R II and a cheap full frame 50mm F1.8 Sony lens.Inspiration
Before heading to that city I have searched online for interesting locations, so I have noticed that this place was very mountainous and many agriculture field, and it was spring with blooming trees, at that moment I had the idea that my next photo should be something dreamy like a scene from the lord of the rings movies.Editing
This photo was delicate to deal with, so I tried to remove any extra noise and enhance small contrast in small areas using DxO on my RAW file, then imported the file into Lightroom Classic and desaturated the colors, turned down a bit highlights, contrast, clarity and defringed trees branches while adding a light vignetting to get this dreamy result. In my camera bag
I always try to challenge myself by keeping it as minimal as possible, so the general equipment I use is a Sony A7RII, a Sony FE 50mm F1.8, a couple memory cards and batteries, a 140cm tripod, a 1TB hard drive, a laptop and another Sony HX90V compact camera.Feedback
The best conditions for such a photo is the smooth nature light, the composition of the scene, taking many photos while chasing the best moment, the quality of your camera sensor, the RAW file setting ON for best post-processing options and turning down a bit most of post-processing setting on the editing software, such as the saturation, the contrast, the clarity and adding a light vignetting.
