I decided to try to start a small flower garden on my back deck, and these beat up beauties are the product of my little endeavor.Time
This photo was taken at 5 am on my back deck after me twin 2 year olds forced me from my bed. Given my own preference I am more of a night owl so I will admit to not being out at dawn very often. I stepped out on the back deck and It was magic, I hustled the 3 of us back into my house to grab my camera to try to capture some of the spectacular dew.Lighting
This was during magic hour, no shadows to fight, I now see why people willingly get up so early to get to play in the flawless lighting.Equipment
This was a hand held shot, leaning over the railing, would not recommend that part.Inspiration
Sometimes when I am struggling to find my joy in the mist of the struggle that is life. God helps me find my perspective with his magnificent creations. What I love about this image is those flowers are stunningly beautiful despite their flaws. The flaws are what drew me to them. Those photo was taken as a reminder that my creator sees and loves me in-spite of the scars.Editing
I view photography as a fine art piece that tells a story. I do shoot RAW so that I can share my voice, make the viewer really see what I saw. For this one I blurred the unnecessary. I am a Graphic Designer with a fine arts degree, so I think its almost inevitable that I am going to pull it into lightroom and play with something. In my camera bag
I have an art lens 18-35 1.8f and a canon 80D. Someday when the twins grow up I will add more, but for now I love my art lens.Feedback
Get up early and look for the the magic.
