Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the Ferncliff Peninsula Natural Area in Ohiopyle, PA while hiking with my friend, Chelsea on the first day of our camping trip!

Time

We arrived at camp a little earlier than expected and couldn't check into our site quite yet, so we decided to take a hike around the Ferncliff Peninsula Natural Area. We spent hours taking in the beautiful scenery! This shot was taken late in the afternoon that day.

Lighting

It was late afternoon, bright daylight but we were in the woods so there was nice shade. This little guy was sticking out of the base of a moss covered tree in a little pocket of sunlight.

Equipment

I just used my Sony a7ii with a 70mm macro art lens from Sigma. No other equipment necessary.

Inspiration

I just loved this one singular mushroom against the beautiful bright green moss.

Editing

I did very minimal post processing for this image. Just some minor adjustments to the levels.

In my camera bag

I always have my Sony a7ii, 70mm macro art lens from Sigma, and my 14mm Rokinon. I'm looking forward to expanding my lens collection soon! I also bring several extra batteries and an extra memory card, just in case.

Feedback

Just be patient and take your time. The little details are some of my favorite subjects. If you rush you might miss them!
