Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo at an old apartment of mine I used to live in with my sister back in 2019 I believe. We had little belongings since it was our first time being on our own, but these babies were more than enough for us.

Time

I wanna say it was around noonish.

Lighting

The lighting couldn’t have been more perfect. This shot is simply just life happening, a cute and memorable moment captured. No fixed positions for the subjects, no tweaking for that special lighting. It all happened so naturally. These two sweet siblings were doing what they do best, being kittens while I played along snapping pics here and there because they looked perfect by the door with the sunlight coming through.

Equipment

I used my iPhone camera. Which can be quite amazing when used seriously.

Inspiration

What inspired me to take this photo was the moment that I was witnessing. I remember having little in that old apartment, one couch, and a tv on our stand. I was always on the carpet with our cats making fun with what we had just like them. I loved them so much, and nothing at the time made me happier than seeing them together like that.

Editing

I might have tweaked the brightness on this photo, but I can’t remember exactly what else.

In my camera bag

I always have my phone on me, now with an even better camera and editing tools. I also have my Kodak pixpro AZ528 I sadly hardly use anymore, but hope to soon.

Feedback

For anybody trying to capture those perfect moments in time, the best strategy is to just enjoy it. Nature, life, the things you can’t exactly control will be beautiful all on their own with little to no help at all. Find it, feel it, and capture it quick!
