Last night I ventured to Kynance Cove in search of a glimpse of Zodiacal Light.
Zodiacal light is best seen whilst close to the equinox and without a moon in the sky. It's also only visible for a couple of hours after dusk so I had to get out early for once!
Zodiacal Light is caused by millions of tiny particles in the plane of Earth's solar system. The solar system was born more than 4.5 billion years ago as a rotating cloud of gas and dust surrounded the new sun. This cloud coalesced into the objects now known as planets and asteroids, but some of the original dust was left behind.
