Location
This picture was taken at our own stable, on our pasture. The pasture is really beautiful with lots of trees on it. It was one of my first picture I made with my Canon 7D so I was still not that intimate with this camera.Time
It was about 8:30 AM.Lighting
Because of the clouds the light was really soft and there where nearly no shadows. I love working with natural light, especially for horse portraits not only because it makes the colors look gorgeous but the horses stay more relaxed too. It depends on the horse but most of them are afraid of sudden glare light.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon 7D, with the Canon EF-S 17-85mm.Inspiration
My goal that day was to take a portrait of my mothers horse "Dirt" aka Masters Hidden Jewel, that should show her strength and friendliness. I wanted to get a real winter feeling into the picture and tried to make it look like a fairytale winter wonderland. It was very important for me to have snowflakes dancing around in the photo.Editing
I did only increase the saturation on the photo. In my camera bag

Even the most usual all day moments can have something wonderful or mystical, keep watching out for those.
