Location
This photo was purely happenstance. The sun was setting as I was leaving work and I took a different route so that I could drive past a bayou not far from home. It had been a hard day and as I got my first view of the water and the sunset it totally took my breath away. I did something I never do, I stopped and watched and relaxed. Then I grabbed my phone and starting taking shot after shot. I loved them all but this one just calms me.Time
Spring was just starting and it was no longer fully dark at the end of my work day. It was a little after 5:00pm and the beauty of the setting sun over the bayou was just what I needed to experience in order to release the tension of a hectic and stressful day.Lighting
I take a lot of pictures and sometimes get lucky enough to have one or two that I really like. I have heard many people say they are "self-taught" and think to myself that I can't even make that claim. I don't know how to judge lighting, or how to use (or avoid) shadows. I don't know what aperture means. I only know what I feel and sometimes I am lucky enough to capture that "feeling" in a photo.Equipment
I used my Android phone.Inspiration
I was in awe of the beauty of nature. I didn't make a decision to take pictures, I was just suddenly aware that I was taking pictures.Editing
I'm sorry but I'm not sure I understand what "post-processing" is.In my camera bag
The only bag I have is my purse and the only equipment is my cell phone. More than anything, I want a nice camera with a couple of lenses and a tripod. Maybe then I could get a bag to carry them in. (lol)Feedback
Don't try to take a picture similar to one you have seen. Instead, try to capture an image of something that spoke to you, something that whispered, "Catch me if you can!"
