Silverback Gorilla

I love gorillas and was planning to go trekking in Uganda last year which obviously couldn't happen, so these were taken at Twycross Zoo a few weeks ago.
This large silverback male is head of a family of around 8 and they all seemed well cared for and happy, with lots of things to climb on and places to explore.
Zoos are really struggling at the moment due to the lack of foot fall over the last 2 years so if you get the chance, please visit as they need our support. For those who are against them, I get it as I also much prefer to see them in their natural habitat but the fact is, they are here now and for many people, the only chance they will get to see certain animals so imho the best thing we can do is to keep them going and to make sure the animals get to live the best lives they can.
These were taken through glass from about 40 feet away so apologies for any grain!
