Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken at the indigenous community of Bribri in Costa Rica, Talamanca

Time

I took this photograph around 2 pm after me and my friends who came to visit this community and indigenous family hosted us and served us local food, my friend Hava held local lady's hand in a gesture of love and gratitude for allowing us the opportunity to visit their home and document their ways of living in search for a seek of help and support from people around the world.

Lighting

only use was natural light, this is a natural moment captured in an indigenous home, luckily the overcast weather of that day allowed me to protect my highlights and capture crisp moments.

Equipment

My current gear I've used on that day was Nikon z6 mirrorless, lens 85mm prime, no tripod, no flash, natural light.

Inspiration

This was a one time only moment that happened in front of my eyes as we were connecting with the local family that hosted us in their humble home.

Editing

I have edited the photograph in lightroom, basic exposure correction and pronounced the blacks for a bit.

In my camera bag

Nikon z6 mirrorless, 24-70 mm lens, 20 mm lens, 85 mm lens. Fuji xt4 mirrorless, 35 mm lens. Drone mavic2 pro. Ronin SRC gimbal, tripod.

Feedback

Being intentional with our experience in document and capture photographs, I managed to get this and many other beautiful shots by starting a fundraising and non profit organization project to support indigenous families, the camera just captured some of it, but the bigger win was the intention behind it.
