Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture of a Himalayan blue poppy at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA in April of 2021 inside their Conservatory. These true blue flowers only bloom for up to 2 weeks from late March to early April.

Time

This picture was taken in very early evening as I was walking around inside, enchanted by these Lovely blue poppies. The Gardens were getting ready to close and I wanted to get another picture because I knew they would be gone soon.

Lighting

No; just a close-up angled shot.

Equipment

I took this picture with my IPhone 8.

Inspiration

The Himalayan blue poppy was facing away from me and I wanted to angle my iPhone to get a glimpse of the flower’s loveliness. These Beautiful gardens have been the most Peaceful and Lovely place for me and my husband since all the Sadness and Isolation of the pandemic. The Spring of 2021 was the first time I ever saw these Rare and Amazing blue poppies.

Editing

I did not do any post-processing.

In my camera bag

I just have my iPhone 8. I started really wanting to take pictures during the pandemic because it gave me comfort and I thought about trying to take a picture with my heart to try to capture the essence of everything that caught my eye.

Feedback

Focus on something within the object you want to really bring out.
