Behind The Lens

Location

I took it just outside my apartment in my hometown in Sweden.

Time

I took it just before the light fadeaway..There is only a few hours of light daytime winterseson here below artic circle..It's cold and a hush environment for the little birds

Lighting

Fifteen minutes later,it would have been dark..I was adjusting some settings when the little bird landed and stayed just as long for me to capture the frozen beauty.

Equipment

Freehand Sony a6600 Sigmas new lens 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN for aps-c cameras..

Inspiration

Pure luck I guess, it was a special moment thoug.. Birds are most of the times afraid/shy and don't stay as close as this one. It was extremely cold, maybe he was seeking for shelter/warmth. He definately gave warmth to me..

Editing

Just cut some area away. No adjustment in colours, just a little light to compensate for the fading light.

In my camera bag

My Sony a6600 and three lenses. Sonys 70-350mm f4.5-6.3 Sigmas 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN 7artisans 60mm f2.8 macro mark2 lens and a small tripod with soft legs to cling around branches and trees two extra batteries..And a rain bag..

Feedback

Using cameras in hard and cold weather, can be tricky and ruin your gear..Let it cold in your bag and do not jump in a warm car with the gear, it will cause moister if your lenses aren't propably sealed..And when home, leave the gear in the trunk to slowly adjust to the surrounding temperature. That will save you some money and happiness for your next adventure ??
