I captured this jagged assassin bug overwintering in my garden a few days before and the day after a January 2, 2022 snowfall. After the snowfall, I found it just under the seed head of the same cone flower where I discovered it a few days earlier. The cone flower stem was now nearly horizontal to the ground. Part of the head of the assassin bug was slightly covered by snow and ice as shown in the photo.
