This photo was taken at the farm where my horses live in Upstate New York.Time
This was a December evening.Lighting
Being December when it gets dark early, quite often I would use the headlights from my car to light up the paddock so I could fill the water trough and give my horses hay. This one particular evening there was a mist to the air and I turned around after filling the trough and spotted this scene. The horses blocked the headlights from where I was standing, which, with the mist in the air formed these awesome silhouettes and light rays.Equipment
All I had was my cell phone. No tripod, no flash, no fancy lenses. I keep my cell phone camera set to the highest resolution because you just never know when you're going to have the chance to capture that perfect moment. With this image, it paid off.Inspiration
My horses inspire me all the time. This photo was inspired by their beauty and majesty with the extra added dramatic lighting.Editing
I did absolutely no post-processing on this photo. Some photos can't be improved no matter what.In my camera bag
My DSLR is a Cannon Rebel T6i, but this was taken with my Samsung Note 10 cell phone. In my camera bag, I carry my camera, of course, 3 lenses, including a macro lens and my telephoto, along with my zoom. Several filters, mini tripod, remote control and my lens cleaner.Feedback
Always be on the look out for the unusual. If you find it, take several images. My Samsung cell phone does have Pro settings, if you have time to use them, they come in handy. There's times I can't always carry my DSLR with me, but I'm always carrying my cell phone. Just remember to keep it set at the highest resolution the phone allows. It's paid off for me on several occasions.
