This photo was taken at a bear sanctuary in South Dakota. We were traveling to Yellowstone National Park and decided to take a side trip that morning to see the bears. This beautiful Lynx was hiding back in his den and really did not want to be seen. I waited for over 30-minutes for him to make an appearance.Time
This was late morning because I remember having to wait for the cat to make an appearance. Then settle down in a position where I could get a good shot of it. The Lynx really seemed like it did not want its picture taken. It took me a lot of shots and time to get this one clear picture.Lighting
Since the Lynx was resting mostly in its den I had to make sure there was enough of the cat out in the sun to get a clear picture. I wanted to make sure that beautiful face was properly lit up by the sun so the picture was clear and crisp.Equipment

My inspiration is all about the animals. I mainly take pictures of my family and life. When it is not them then it is animals and nature. Especially when we travel. I love to showcase the majesty of nature and how awesome the animals and surroundings around us are.Editing
In this picture, all I did was adjust the lighting a slight bit with an effect. In my camera bag

What I would say is just relax and wait. If you are in a hurry you won't get the shot you want. You cannot force nature. It has to come to you. You cannot make it happen. Don't worry about wasting shots. Keep shooting, if you sit and watch you may miss the shot you are waiting for. You can always go back and delete the pictures that aren't right, but you can never go back and retake a shot you missed.
