Behind The Lens

Location

First, thank you for the feature. This photo is of the iconic Duke Energy building in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina.

Time

It was approaching twilight. The city lights had just turned on.

Lighting

Nature’s perfect lighting featuring one of my favorite structures in this city. It was a striking pose and seconds I couldn’t ignore.

Equipment

(Smiling). My trusty IPhone 8 at the time.

Inspiration

DE stood magnificent from this angle. She (yes, I said she) posed and I quickly captured. Irresistible!

Editing

Yes. I used the shadow and contrast adjustments to enhanced the details. The photo was originally in color, but I chose B&W to slightly deepen and bring out the features of the subject.

In my camera bag

My new IPhone 12 in my purse. In the future I plan to invest in a new camera to replace the one I lost a good while ago. I’m just getting my sea legs steady again and loving every moment. I enjoy using my phone for quick captures and easy editing.

Feedback

Grab the moment. If you’re a novice, enjoy use of you phone camera skills. Learn the features. Grow with what you have. The fun part is not just taking pictures, but making an art of it. Learn to edit your work and beautify to YOUR liking. Enjoy the work of others and learn. Technology has come a long way. Take advantage of it—take your time. Love it!
