Location
This photo was taken at John Witherspoon Woods in Princeton, New Jersey. My girlfriend and I were hiking through Witherspoon Woods in Princeton, New Jersey, on our way to see a boulder field and a rock formation called Devil's Cave.Time
This photo was taken in the late afternoon around 4:30 pm. We enjoye exploring some of the smaller and less-traveled parks in our area, especially during the week after I got out of work at 3 p.m..Lighting
I prefer natural lighting. On this particular day, it was very sunny and there was quite a bit of natural light coming through the tree canopy.Equipment
Samsung Galaxy S9 phone camera F2.4, 1/120s, 4.30mm ISO 80 Auto focus, white balance auto No flashInspiration
I like the portrayal of uncertainty as to where this trail leads . It seems very well used, yet there is a large tree across it. One has to wonder- have people been ducking under this tree and continuing on to the Boulder Field? Does it lead somewhere else interesting or is it a dead end.Editing
I did not do any post-processing to this photo. In my camera bag
Since I only have 35 mm film cameras, I always carry 2 phones. My go-to is the S9, which has an amazing camera with many settings. My backup phone is an S7, which has a pretty basic, but adequate camera.Feedback
I always look for the out-of-the-ordinary shot. Although I have basically an unlimited amount of photo storage, I try to limit myself to Under 72 photos per hike or whatever I happen to be photographing that day, as if I was a photographer on a budget with only two rolls of 36 exposures. In this particular case, this is the only photo that I took of this Trail with the tree across it. I ended up walking it by myself, ducking under the tree and finding out that the trail went on for about 30 yards and met up with the main trail that we were hiking on.
