Location
Photo was taken on a walk with my dog at a local park while I was scouting photo locations for an up coming portrait shoot.Time
It was just about sunset. We had been walking around for about an hour or so before I got the shot.Lighting
Stopped to take some sunset photos. Took a couple tries to get the exposer right so you could see his face.Equipment
I just had my Nikon D750 with my 34-85mm Zoom lens. Nothing else.Inspiration
We had been walking around for a while scouting locations and the sun was setting and creating beautiful colors in the sky. Stopped to take some sunset photos. My dog jumped up on a tree stump and so I decided to get a photo of him with the sunset behind him.Editing
Needed to make some exposer adjustments and some brightening of my dog. Masked my dog so I could lighten and make adjustments so he would stand out a bit more and not be too dark.In my camera bag
Typically I have my Nikon D750 my 50mm 1.8 prime lens and my 34-85mm Zoom lens and a speed light. Tend to keep the equipment light but versatile.Feedback
As trying to take photos of animals and children, patience is needed. They are almost always in motion. If they stop it is for a split second. Try to get you camera setting "right" as fast as possible. Don't be too upset if the "good" photo was one where you getting your settings dialed in. A few post-processing adjustment may be able to save it.
