Behind The Lens

Location

Crawford, Nebraska

Time

We were walking the town before their Independence day parade around 9:00 a.m.

Lighting

It was a beautiful day with almost perfect lighting.

Equipment

Sony A7 rii and FE 24-70mm F4ZA OSS

Inspiration

The signs of our small towns fighting for survival are apparent all around us. This closed auto parts store with nicknacks now showing in the window is proof. We need to find a way to revitalize and support these communities especially with the readiness of teleworking bringing awareness to the peach and calm of these areas that might put them back on an incline.

Editing

Post-processed in LR to bring out the colors and moody clouds rolling above.

In my camera bag

I shoot with a Sony A7 rii which I've had since 2017, it is been a great camera to start the switch to full-frame. I always have with me is the FE 24-70mm F4ZA OSS and the 100-400 GM for the perfect range of options. I recently added the Sigma 12-24 for those shots you want just a little more dramatic wide-angle. I also have a nifty 50, 1.8, (because who doesn't?)and the 90mm 2.8 macro.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open, even the ordinary can be extraordinary.
