Thank you for that good news! As you can probably see on my profile, although one of my favourite images of my favourite place to visit, it did not receive too many likes and awards, so it is particularly pleasing that enough people thought enough of the image to vote it No1. Acceptance by your peers can be quite humbling as well as exciting.

Thank you. Stourhead is such a wonderful place. Autumn this year may not be quite as spectacular, but it is still my favourite place to visit.

Location
Stourhead, Wiltshire UKTime
Taken about 10 am. Stourhead is a National Trust property and opens at 09.30.Lighting
The morning light kept the foreground in shade which left the palladian bridge in shadow but left the main part of the lake and beyond without the distraction of the immediate foreground. In full sun and the right light, the bridge stonework has some wonderful colouring.Equipment
Canon 5D mk 4, canon 28-300 L lens focal length 40mm f16, exp 1/125 s ISO400Inspiration
Since my first visit to Stourhead in 2008, I have wanted to try to capture the beauty of the landscapes there. Autumn for garden landscapes filled with mature trees seemed to be the right time.Editing
Yes, but mainly to bring out more of the sky and the areas under shadow. In my camera bag
My canon 28-300 L lens goes nearly everywhere unless I can only get close up to a subject where a wide angle lens, my Canon 17-40 L lens goes in the bag, or even the canon 100 L macro lens with extension tubes for closer wildlife shots. Where I know I shall need a long reach, I have a canon 500L f4 Mk1, or the Sigma 150-600 sport lens where I might want to change quickly from long reach to closer shots. I only take the 28-300 lens for days out where my wife wants to do more than just hold the camera bag, which is most of the time.Feedback
Morning and evening/late afternoon light with lightly clouded sunshine, will give the best colours particularly where autumn colours are what you are seeking.
