Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the backyard of a little girl who wanted to go play with the children next door but couldn’t because of social distancing during covid-19.

Time

The photo was taken later in the afternoon. There was still plenty of sun but as it got later shadows began to play. I enjoy this time of day because the sun is still bright but not as harsh.

Lighting

The afternoon sun was just the right light for this picture. The sunshine and shadows danced around the little girl like the kids playing on the other side of the fence.

Equipment

This was shot with my Iphone. It’s the only camera I have but it takes wonderful pictures.

Inspiration

Covid-19 made so many things that we take for granted impossible to do. Like a little girl playing with neighbors. I wanted to take a picture and show how the children feel isolated from there friends.

Editing

This shot was not hardly edited at all. I liked it just like it was taken.

In my camera bag

I wish I could tell you about all my equipment in my bag but sense I only have my phone I depend on natural light and I try and focus on the emotion of the photo. I want to tell a story with the images I take and I want people to feel something when they see my shots.

Feedback

Trust your instincts. : : Chances are if it moves you ...your message will be understood! I mainly take pictures because it captures a moment in time that can never be relived. That’s amazing to me…to have that smile, or that tear, or that familiar place captured forever. To be able to go back and look … and remember….what a truly special gift!
