It's a place called Arche De Port Blanc in Quiberon France. It's easy to find and has some parking nearby.Time
Sunset ... this place is perfectly located to the west and it's a magnificent place to simply watch the sunset.Lighting
I love long-exposure photography and the motion it sometimes creates. In this image that's obviously not the case. But it was a 17min long exposure. I wanted to smooth out all the waves and the clouds moving by. And at the moment the colours appeared in the sky the sun was already behind the horizon. I had a 10stop filter on my camera and used a light meter ( some app on my iphone ) to check the remaining light as I did not wanted to interfere with my camera. And I then had to guess a bit what the remaining time would bring me. 17min43 seconds was the total time of the shot.Equipment

I was there on holiday and this was one of the last shots I took over there. I wanted to have a large field of view and bring a bit of the lonely feeling I had when standing there and shooting the photo.Editing
Hot pixel removal took ages .... Learned a few new tricks in Photoshop as I usually never take these extreme long exposures. Sky improvement in Luminar 4 and some changes in the dynamic range of the shadows to bring forward those details Color correction Lens correction And that's about it. The hot pixels took me forever to clean :DIn my camera bag

For me, the wild coast of Brittany offers you many similar spots to shoot this kind of image. Do your research upfront, where does the sun set, what's the tidal timings etc ... It will save you a lot of frustration once on location. Don't expect every image you take to come out spectacular because it won't be the case as you cannot control the weather. So if possible do something I learned =&bt; Repeat , repeat and repeat... Go back often to the same location under different circumstances and learn from each and every one of them :)
