Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Anglet (France), an internationnaly well knows surf spot in the Basque Country facing the Atlantic ocean and surrounded by the Pyrenees mountains.

Time

December 31, in the last hours of the year 2012.

Lighting

Winter sunset created this burning sky.

Equipment

At this time my gear was a Canon Rebel T2i or 550D and un Canon 55-250mm lens. The shot was taken at 130mm, ISO 100, F/5, 1/500 shutter speed.

Inspiration

I was on my way to party for the new year eve and wanted to stop for the last time of the year to watch the sunset. Alone on the beach I had a great time watching this natural phenomenon. I wanted to show the power of waves and the beauty of this place I used to surf in my early years.

Editing

Post processing I made with Photoshop was quite simple. Juste added some contrast and added some brightness to the foreground.

In my camera bag

Nowadays I have a Canon 70D in my bag, along with a Sigma 10-20mm and a Canon L 35-350mm, a Canon speedlight 550 flash, a Vanguard tripod. Plus some accessories like extender x1.4, filters, remote control..
