Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Tadoba National Park in Maharashtra, India

Time

It was a nearly overcast day with sunlights peeking from behind the clouds sometimes. Afternoon it was around 4 PM, filled with golden hues

Lighting

The play between clouds and the Sun was really contrasting and the Sambar came out at the perfect time to get drenched with the golden hues of the Sun. A little haze behind the Sambar was due to the dusts which reflected more sunlight making it a pleasant one!

Equipment

Nikon D5300 with Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens, hand held in natural light conditions.

Inspiration

The dramatic play of the sunlights, the golden afternoon hues on the sambar drew me the most.

Editing

Yes, the post-processing included lightening up the background with some more haze and exposure while, the subject being dark in color, I tried to adjust the contrast all over the subject. Moreover, a few curves adjustment was used to pop out the subject from the lighted habitat.

In my camera bag

Nikon D5300 with Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens is my primary go-to gear set. Except for these, I have a Tamron 70-300mm G2 and Nikkor 18-55mm Kit lens. I don't use a tripod though!

Feedback

If the photographers are trying to visit these dry places I would definitely suggest a time around March- April. And for these kinds of images, I would definitely love the afternoon hues rather than the morning ones.
