Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the grounds of chatsworth estate, Derbyshire UK. They have several different kinds of deer free roaming the expansive grounds. I had to creep up so slowly so I didn’t startle them

Time

This was mid morning. I was out on a sunrise walk with my mum and this was just before we went to a cafe for brunch

Lighting

All natural lighting. It was a semi cloudy day so light was quite flat

Equipment

Olympus pen 8 with a 40-150mm f2.8 pro lens (rented the lens to have some fun and ended up loving it)

Inspiration

It was pure chance that I found the deer

Editing

I added a preset but that was it

In my camera bag

I now have an Olympus omd m5 mark iii (my pen 8 died) I have mostly prime lenses with one 12-200mm zoom

Feedback

Plan your walk for early hours so the grounds are quiet. More people means less chance of the deer coming out. Be patient. You may have to sit for a while or have ninja moves to get closer
