Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in Tangerang, near to Jakarta the capital city of Indonesia. The shoot in the outdoor.

Time

The photo was taken on 24 December 2017 in the morning around 8.37. I remember I need to get to the place in early morning, cause I also taken some insect photo.

Lighting

That days is was nice morning sunshine is beautiful light. So using the natural light is was really worthy and good for macro photos.

Equipment

This photo actually was shoot using my iphone 7 with back camera with an F1,8 1/100sec ISO 25 on 3,99mm. And one additional macro lens attached in my phone.

Inspiration

I was looking a lot of picture from macro photographer in social media and other platform. Is really makes me want to try to make photos some kind like that.

Editing

Yap. I used several apps for post-processing. For my phone I normally used Light room Mobile & Snapseed. And for laptop I used Photoshop and Light room. For the Iguana picture, I just used the apps from my phone, doing several things such as highlight, shadows, vibrance, saturation, sometimes I used clarity, texture and vignette to get picture more good and realistic.

In my camera bag

I Sony and Canon user, both of camera are always in my backpack. I used Sony A7III with lens 16-35mm, 24-70mm and Canon 6D with 24-105mm. Because I also love a lot of landscape, I have some equipment with me like the filter, remote shutter and also my macro lens.

Feedback

Capturing the Iguana is quite easy as long you can keep it from running. For the background you can used the nature (flower, leaf, ect) use your hoodie (black color) or paper or anything, do not thing the expensive background it will limited your creativity. Lighting is important, so remember what is the best time for capturing the picture not only for macro but for other genre like landscape, seascape, portrait, ect
