Location
This photo was made while walking in a forest where I live in Indiana. I was there looking for mountain bikers using the trails for some photography for the tourism bureau.Time
The photograph was taken in early evening during the summer.Lighting
It was natural light, that was getting dim as the sun got lower in the sky and the amount of trees was causing the light to go down quick.Equipment
I was shooting with a Nikon D7100 and an 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
While walking through the forest looking for mountain bikers using the trails I noticed the contrast between the lighter trail and the surrounding trees and the way the trail snaked slightly through the forest. I just thought it looked peaceful and interesting.Editing
I adjusted the image in Lightroom slightly to enhance the feeling I felt while making the image.In my camera bag
I carry a small Domke bag that has served me well over the years. I change what I carry depending on the subject and assignment. Normally I have a wide angle zoom on one camera and a telephoto, like an 85mm or 300mm on the other camera. I also carry a flash in case the scene needs some extra light.Feedback
Just be aware of what is going on around you, try not to get distracted by thoughts and be in the moment.
