Location
I was lucky enough to stumble on this beautifully calm landscape on a hike close to my home town. It was the first time I went to this particular place and I was really pleased to be able to take my time and test out a few ND filters without being in the rush of being anywhere else.Time
It was 2:43PM on September 10th 2021. Due to the bright sun, I've shot with three filters stacked. The shot lasted 10 second at F9, ISO 80.Lighting
Photographing moving water can be challenging during sunny days, have filters with you so you can be ready to try multiple shots of a scenery.Equipment
I used my trusted Fujifilm X-T3 paired with the wonderful Fujinon XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR. The camera was mounted on a PeakDesign Aluminum Travel Tripod which granted me stability on the steep rocks I was located on. At the time I had just bought The "Nature Filter Kit Plus+" by Urth, and was testing out their filters. On this particular photo, a selection of three filters were used in the following order: - CPL Polarizing Filter Plus+ - ND64 Filter Plus+ - Soft Grad ND8 Plus+Inspiration
To be frank, I was at the right place at the right moment, my little experiments with the filters paid of and I was incredibly pleased of the results it provided.Editing
Usually, I would adjust the photo in Lightroom or Capture One after the fact, but this one was pretty neat without the need of post-processing, which is not something too frequent in Landscape photography. In my camera bag
When I'm out, I tend to travel with a ton of gear. My bag is incredibly heavy, but when packed properly, it is manageable. My baggage is divided into 4 compartments, accessible from both sides and from the top. In the top compartment, you'll usually find a prime Fujinon XF 23mm f/1.4 R and cleaning products for both my lens and camera. The middle section is where I keep my Fujinon XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR. In the lower section is my DJI remote for the drone and finally, my Mavic Air 2S is in the bottom of the bag.Feedback
There's no rush in photography, we are witness to so many beautiful things... Therefore, before pressing the shutter, I take the time to fully appreciate every moment a little bit, for myself.
