This was taken in my garden, I live in a care home because if a stroke I had almost three years ago now, and we are lucky enough to have beautiful grounds which while we have been restricted being able to leave because of covid so photographing opportunities have been limited once I was strong enough to be able to hold my camera again I still was able to get out most days in the garden this year, this was on one of those lovely summer daysTime
This was around midday just before it was getting too hot but warm enough for lots of insect activity to be happening.Lighting
This was a bright day so it was very bright at the timeEquipment
This was shot on a Nikon z50 Nikkor 50mm 2.8 lens and a tripod was used .Inspiration
I was using an app on my phone Picture Insect and seeing the variety of insects I was collecting I wanted to take some better photos rather than the quick captures on the app on my phoneEditing
I brought the highlights up, and cropped the photograph tighterIn my camera bag
One of the most important things I have in my bag is my phone it contains two apps that I find essential for identification of plants a and insects which helps ensure if in the field Im safe and don't contaminate an area with a species of plant that will not stop growing if I come across something i'm not sure of what it is. My tripod is very important having had a stroke my weakness in holding my camera can be pronounced so having my tripod is essential although I do sometimes need assistance getting setup to begin with and I sometimes have to do short shoots Lens cleaning cloth - Im always catching my lens with my bad hand so keeping a cleaning cloth is essential for me. Pegs for clipping back gently and leaves to get the shot I want.Feedback
Have patience and fun, we are all on a learning curve there's many flaws in this image but I had fun in capturing it and in learning from it.
