Behind The Lens

Location

A modified 4x4 JEEP Wrangler owned by my housemate Louie Sales. We drove this beast on the hill of Brindabella Range, Brindabella New South Wales, Australia. To capture a winter feel background with lots of snow.

Time

We woke up early in the morning around 7am to drive to the range. We arrived there at around 8am from Canberra, and right away we started taking pictures as we are the first to arrived in the location.

Lighting

The weather was perfect, light snow flakes falling. The sky was overcast, perfect condition of giving a contrasting hue between the black Jeep againts the white snow background.

Equipment

This shot was take with a Sony A6400 l EPZ 18-105mm F4 lens, the settings used was Aperture 50/10?ISO 100?Shutter 1/80?Focal Length 200/10. No other equipment used.

Inspiration

I took this photo when I noticed that snow white background makes a contrasting shade of the black Jeep. So I took sample pics of it and realized it was a cool expirement.

Editing

I only used Picassa basic photo editor, as I dont have any professional grade post processing editor yet. I did adjustment on contrast, increase lighting a little bit and thats it.

In my camera bag

I do have a JOBY Tripod with three-way head whenever i do landscape and timelapsed photography. But most of the times when I do normal shoot with people as the subject, I just have my camera (Sony A6400 l EPZ 18-105mm lens) handheld. I love to expirement in shooting my subjects, so always ready to shoot whenever I found one that interest me.

Feedback

I still consider myself as an intermediate photographer, so much to learn and so much to experience. My best advice for people who loves photography is never stop improving your skills. Take your camera, go to places where it inspires you to capture moments/scene thats interesting, Get rid of your comfort zone, try to expirement and explore. After all photography is boundless, you can do whatever you want and just believe in your self that you can do it.
